Well then, here we are again. I’m a bit late in firing up the reporting status this season, but the game has been afoot for a couple of weeks now. In our neck of the woods the local listserve is filling with posts about the FOS arrivals. For us it’s Rufous Hummingbirds and Turkey Vultures.
We’ve been having unstable conditions as a series of low pressure systems have moved through bringing lots of precipitation. But the birds have been picking their way north amongst the cells and even braving the rain. The bulk of theses early migrants are most likely the geese and ducks. So lets first take a look at a couple of Hydrometeor Classification loops from this week. (click on the link to view the .gif file for these loops)
Yep – game on!
