Another night of northbound traffic.
The light rain in the first stages of exodus obscures much of the movement but stick with the loop past 05:00 UTC and watch the ensuing flight. The low we discussed yesterday is still off the coast a ways and our winds are light and variable posing little barrier to flight.
Nationally, looking at the winds aloft and the national reflectivity composite you can see the interaction of weather and these early stages of migration. Favorable southerly winds up the Central Flyway bringing some birds with them. And unfavorable northerlies in the east keeping them grounded.
